Cheti Chand

Cheti Chand is one of the most important festivals of the Sindhi community and is celebrated to commemorate the birth of the Sindhi philanthropist Saint Jhulelal. This festival is celebrated as the Sindh New Year and falls on the second day of Chaitra's Bright Moon Week (Shukrapaksha). On this eve, people pray to the mighty Lord Varun (God of Water) for prosperity and wealth. Jhulelal is considered an incarnation of the water god. Chetichand not only has a religious meaning, but Sindhu equally boasts the traditional values ​​and beliefs of its community.
